The recording of the new album (Unseen) began on Monday October 18, 2010 in Antfarm studio (Århus, Denmark).
Once again with producer Tue Madsen.
This will be the seventh studio album from The Haunted.
Follow the progress below...
Wrapping it up
So, we had a little listening party today with Me, Tue, Peter and Per. We are all very happy
with how the songs came out. Peter has only some minor fixes, and early next week it's time for Tue's magic touch mixing the whole thing.
Thanks for stopping by and checking out this studio report. We will continue updating website & facebook etc, so be sure to check that.
This winter we'll have some video footage from the studio online. Til then - Bye! /Anders

Recording vocals for this record really has ben a trip. In the writing process
I really never ever stopped to think if I'd ever be able to reproduce and actually top the many ideas,
tight harmonies and different vocal techniques and styles of singing. But with only a few songs left I feel confident
that I am actually pulling it off and making it work. Tue is a great part of it of course.
The patience it takes to intonate a certain passage, or achieve a sonic effect through tone modulation is pretty demanding.
This last year I've focused more than ever on just how a song is more than just music and words, how really the wellcrafted,
gives something more to me as a listener. Both me and Anders have felt strongly about really taking our time with building
subtle layers of harmonies. Textures to give the listener a real audio soundscape within the song. I really hope to have more
recording time on the next record because I'm understanding just how cool an instrument the human voice is.
We have two and a half songs left,
and after that we're going back to see if there's anything we feel we could add, or do better.
All in all, so far I'm feeling that it's really turning out awesome, and after we listened to what we finished this
evening I am feeling inspired. It's going well.... /Pete

This is suh-weeeeet! We finished two of the groovies today.
God damn, it some sexy shit coming out of those speakers.
Me and Tue had to take BachmanTurnerOverdrive-break when we were done, just to celebrate.
To anyone who cares; The Haunted have never sounded better. This music is truthfully unique, it's just I don't know...
Fat. Heavy. MUSIC. :) // Pete

Just got back from the studio after second session today. Me and Tue ended up hi-fiving and laughing.
Yes we got ourselves a good old "Fuck Yeah!"-moment. If someone pulls shit like this off anytime soon I can only congratulate them,
because this is really fucking becoming cool :) Now time for rest! // Pete

Today, we moved down to the old studio (the garage) to begin the recording of vocals.
Pete completed one song today and we'll continue tomorrow. Also went through some guitar parts and did some
experimenting with harmonies, solos etc...

The bass tracks are nearly completed. One song to go. Then, listen everything through; and it's
time for Pete to start singing. Over and out!

Guitars near completion
All rhythm tracks are recorded. One song is missing clean guitars, but will continue
tomorrow. Jonas is recording / figuring out bass ideas as we speak. Later this week it's time for Pete!

Halfway through the rhythm guitar tracks. Everything going smoothly. Today we will set-up
bass and vocals and start working with that alongside the guitar recording. We also put up a lot of pictures on our facebook page.

After trying some different set-ups, we went with the ENGL POWERBALL through a straight
MARSHALL Cab. The big difference from previous albums is that we used a guitar with passive Seymour Duncan pick-up that actually
sounded awesome. Completed 2 rhythm tracks today, will continue tomorrow... Thanks for stopping by!

Per finished his drum tracks today. Tomorrow we will go through the 12 guitars, 10 amplifiers
trying to figure out a good rhythm guitar sound. We already tried the ENGL POWERBALL today with some different cabs;
Marshall and an Orange 2x12". More exploring tomorrow...

Drum recording continued
We got off to an early start today, and after listening to yesterdays tracks
we were very happy with the sound and the takes. Per was in the zone today, and we got 5 tracks down on tape
(well, not really tape, but you get the drift ;). So far everthing is working excellent and we have a good vibe going.
Peter will come down on Thursday, and hopefully he will help me out with these updates, I need to save my fingers for riffing. :)
Thanks everybody for checking in, and cya tomorrow!

Recording Day One
Busy day indeed. The drum kit was set-up already yesterday, so today we miced it up, and the old pool area sounded really cool.
We got a really good sound going almost immediately. I exported all the demo tracks so we could mount it onto the click tracks for Per.
(No this time we won't record live - surprise! ;). We did two drum takes all in all, but tomorrow will tell if we were up to something fruitful or not. Brain is melting - Need sleep / ZZZ

Me and Jonas took the ferry early this morning to Denmark, followed by a smooth ride
down to Aarhus. Unloaded tons of gear and met up with Per. Tue's new studio is pretty cool. The old swimming pool in his house has
turned into a giant drum recording room, high ceiling, tons of tiles, and just a very weird setting. Looking forward to what the drums will sound like when we put microphones up tomorrow...
